"In Context" Search

Rather than perform a search "cold," netTrekker d.i.'s Searching in Context feature allows you to Keyword Search within a selected topic. This means that you can develop a context for your Keyword Search to produce exceptionally relevant Search Results.

To search in context:

  • Select a Subject Area
Click one of the school subjects on the netTrekker d.i. Subject Search page. netTrekker d.i. will display a new page that contains a more detailed list of topics.

      Example of a Subject Area:
      Subject Area: Science

  • Continue to Drill Down
Read through the list, and then drill down by clicking the topic that most closely relates to your need.

Continue to click topics and subtopics, drilling down until you find a general topic you are interested in.

  • Type in a Keyword
Type a word or words describing your specific interest into the Keyword Search box.

Be sure to select "Search in Context," located at the top of the page, and then click .

  • Getting a Result
netTrekker d.i. will immediately display a Search Result page. This page lists the links to websites that meet the requirements of your selected topic area AND closely match your keyword(s).

  • Viewing a Website
Click one of the links on the Search Results page to go to that website. Note that the site opens in a different window so that you can keep the netTrekker d.i. Search Results page available.

If your Keyword Search resulted in more than one page of Search Results, use the page number links or "next >" and "< previous" links at the bottom of the Search Results page to move from page to page.
