Promethean Resources

Promethean ACTIVclassroom flipchart lessons are available through netTrekker d.i. The flipcharts may be downloaded and viewed by all netTrekker d.i. users, but only those educators who have ACTIVclassroom solutions including the ACTIVboard, Promethean's interactive whiteboard, and ACTIVotes, the handheld formative assessment devices, will be able to access and manipulate all the features of the Promethean lesssons.

To find Promethean resources in a search result, look for the in the list of content icons at the bottom of an individual search result. You might also choose to open the Collections menu and click on the Promethean box.

As shown in the example, each Promethean resource will also be indicated by the Promethean flame icon in the netTrekker legend.

To see all Promethean lessons available in netTrekker, type "Promethean" in the keyword search box.

Viewing Promethean Flipcharts

To view a Promethean flipchart, or to use it if you have an ACTIVclassroom, you must download both the Promethean Flipchart Viewer and the specific flipchart you wish to view.

• Downloading Promethean Flipchart Viewer
  From the Search Result page, click on a Promethean resource. Click on Flipchart Viewer at the right side of the page, then follow Promethean's instructions for downloading. For convenience, you will probably want to save the Viewer to your desktop. You only need to do this once, not each time you want to view a flipchart.

  Remember that you can only manipulate the information and activities in flipcharts if you are using a Promethean ACTIVboard. They cannot be manipulated on any other electronic whiteboards.

• Downloading a Flipchart
  Once you have the Flipchart Viewer, you can download and view any Promethean flilpchart. Click download flipchart, which appears under the thumbnail view of the flipchart on the Promethean webpage. Then follow the appropriate steps described to download the chart to your computer. You may save the flipchart to your desktop or to your document files.

• Viewing a Flipchart
  To view a downloaded flipchart, click on the ACTIVflipchart Viewer icon on your Desktop to open an ACTIVflipchart toolbar.
  
  Click on the top left button on the toolbar, then find the flipchart filename you'd like to view and open it, or go back to the Promethean Planet page and click on "download resource" under the image of the flipchart to open the resource. Use the arrows at the bottom of the toolbar to turn pages of the flipchart.
