Share Your Saved Searches

Note You only have the ability to Share Your Saved Searches if you are logged into netTrekker d.i. as an individual user. If you access netTrekker d.i. through your school's IP address, you can register for free as an individual user if you want to use this feature.

With Shared Search Folders, everyone in your school can access the Saved Searches you choose to share.

Sharing Your Saved Searches
Here's how to Share a Saved Search:

  • Move Desired Searches Into a Folder
Learn how to save your searches, create folders, and move saved searches into folders in the Saved Searches help. Once you have created a personalized folder and entered searches into it, you may keep that folder for your personal use, edit it, and share it.

  • Note

A Shared Folder is accessible to all netTrekker d.i. users in your school. It is advisable to name your folder clearly so others will be able to identify the folder you have created.

  • Share Your Folder

To share a Saved Search folder, click [Share], located to the right of each folder you have created. The blank folder icon () will be immediately replaced with a folder icon with a star (). The star indicates that the folder is now in a shared state, and is viewable by all netTrekker d.i. users from your school.

  • Example of the Shared Search Folders:

  • Edit and "Unshare" Your Folder
You may edit or unshare your folders from the Your Saved Searches page. Simply click [Edit] to rename your folder, or [Unshare] to take your folder out of Shared Search status. You can also add or delete searches in your Shared Search Folders the same way you add or delete any Saved Search.

  • Viewing Your Shared Folder (and All Other Shared Folders)
You will always edit, share, and delete your own folders from the main Saved Search page. To view how others see your Shared Search Folders, and to check out other Shared Search Folders created by other users from your school, click the first link on the page, titled "Shared Search Folders."
